In 1936 Francesco Vitaloni opened a food store in Milan and decided to call it "San Carlo" because of the proximity of San Carlo Church. A revolutionary food for that time was launched in this store: thinly sliced crispy fried chips, which Mr Vitaloni and his wife Angela, together with their son Alberto, distributed every day in bakeries, snack bars in the surroundings and even door to door. A limited production (only 20 kilos per day) became soon insufficient: it was an instant success, everybody wanted those potato chips. Therefore, Mr Vitaloni decided to move to another city district to start up the industrial production: it took only 4 years – from 1936 to 1940 – to turn the small shop into a Company named "San Carlo... le patatine". In 1955, the management passed to the son Alberto, the actual owner, who had a leading role in the ever-growing results reached till today. Nowadays San Carlo produces not only chips but also savoury snacks, bakery products and sweets distributed all over Italy and abroad. Since 1970 this multinational got the name of "San Carlo - Gruppo Alimentare" and it has now 2200 employees, 11 factories (in Italy and abroad), 170 warehouses, 1400 salesmen and vans that guarantee a perfect distribution. The initial small quantity of fried chips turned into a production of about 100 tons per day. At present, San Carlo is the most recognized and appreciated brand in the market and the Company is very much focused on consumer needs, development, high quality products and innovation.

The company TERMIGNONI SpA, founded in 1969 by Mr. Luigi Termignoni, and is a company that designs and produces exhaust systems for motorcycles for road use and for race use at high levels. The company employs 50 employees. The study of every project is undertaken in the prototype department, then discussed with the internal engineers. After the creation of the prototype different tests are then effected (e.g., noise, performance, strength of materials etc.,), at this stage put into production to be placed on the market. The first step of the production process takes place in the area known as “tube cutting”, where bars coming from the warehouse are then cut accordingly for the various models of exhaust systems. These tubes are then passed to the department called “tube benders”, where it is worked to give to a tube a certain diameter, thickness, specific radius and/or angle. There is a department called “stamping” which uses presses for moulding cold metallic materials. This department also uses shears pneumatic and manual calendar’s to work the various pieces of metal sheets that are used in the exhaust system. All the semi-worked pieces are then welded and assembled.. Only electrical welding is used TIG and MIG. The construction of exhaust systems continues with the finishing and quality control of the product in the area known as “packaging”, where the exhaust system is then assembled in every detail, and packed and stored ready for shipment.
