MARTIN AND DIGGIA THINK BIG AHEAD OF TEXAS GP

Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3 and their riders Jorge Martin and Fabio Di Giannantonio are ready to tackle the third Grand Prix of the 2017 Moto3 World Championship, which takes place this weekend at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas.

The first two events of the year saw Martin being a regular visitor to the podium, with two third places and the third position in the title race. The young Spaniard now hopes to keep the momentum going at COTA, where he has never finished in the points before.

After the disappointing end to a promising race in Termas de Rio Hondo, where he was on the unlucky end of a collision started by a fellow-Italian opponent, Di Giannantonio is aiming to turn things around at the American venue, where he raced for the first time last year.

The opening free practice session of the Moto3 World Championship at COTA will get underway at 9:00 local time (GMT -5).

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21

“Obviously this is not the type of start to the season I was looking for, so that’s why it’s even more important for me to do well in Texas. I’m very motivated and looking for revenge, so the goal is to be consistently at the sharp-end of the field throughout the weekend. I like the track: last year I almost took my first world championship point there, while this year we’re clearly looking for much more!”

JORGE MARTIN #88

“Austin is a great track and I like it a lot, although I’m yet to show my true speed there. Our target is to have another great race weekend and to challenge for the win. We still need to improve a bit under braking, which is where we had the hardest time in Argentina: this will be the key for us in order to keep challenging for honours.”
