NAVARRO LOOKING FOR CONSISTENCY OF PERFORMANCE AT MOTEGI

Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 is ready to attack the traditional three flyaway events of the final part of the season – which will take place in Japan, Australia and Malaysia: this is certainly a big challenge on both physical and mental sides, but also an opportunity for Jorge Navarro to wrap up his maiden Moto2 World Championship season in style.

Currently twelfth in the standings, the Valencian rider – who has been confirmed for another season – will aim for consistency in performance and results across the three extra-European races: the goal for Navarro is to stay in the top-7 throughout the weekend, starting from FP1, in order to better prepare each race and have higher chances to race near the front of the field.

With a podium in 2015 and an unlucky weekend last year – despite showing a good pace – Navarro arrives to Motegi with high expectations and goal as he aims to improve his position in the standings.

Moto2 action will begin on Friday at 10:55 local time (GMT +9) for the first free practice session of the Japanese GP.

JORGE NAVARRO #9

“After a two-week break here comes what I consider the most important part of the season. Three racing weekends in a row with different times, so we’ll need to be ready both physically and mentally. Japan is the first stop: it’s a circuit where I finished on the podium in 2015 and where I was quick last year, too. We’re motivated to do well after the Aragon GP and the Monday test – so we’re looking forward to a good weekend in Japan. I don’t want to put any extra pressure on myself, but the goal for these flyaway races will be to be as consistent as possible and hopefully in top-7 from FP1 already.”
