TEAM DEL CONCA GRESINI MOTO3 PREPARES FOR FIRST-EVER #THAIGP

The new race of the year has arrived: Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3 is heading to Thailand and more precisely to the Buriram International Circuit, where MotoGP has never raced before. Despite no braking marks and no telemetry, Jorge Martin and Fabio Di Giannantonio will still aim at the top of the podium.

The Spanish rider aims at keeping the momentum going after five races on the podium – three wins, one second and on third – to try and extend his lead over his main rival for the title, Bezzecchi, currently 13 points shy of the leader. Fabio Di Giannantonio, on the other hand, will try to make amends for the missed podium at Aragón while trying also to narrow the gap to the top of the standings, which at the moment is 41 points away.

Moto3 riders will begin getting to grips with the 4.6km (2.8mile) strip of asphalt consisting of 12 corners – five left-handers and seven right-handers – at 9:00 local time (GMT +7), with the second session to begin at 13:10.

JORGE MARTIN #88

“It’s a new track for everyone, but I’m sure that from FP2 we’ll be all up to speed already. With so many straights it will be interesting to see how the KTMs will perform, especially the one of Bezzecchi. Thirteen points are not many, but we want to keep the momentum going and try to extend our championship lead.”

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21

“We want to make amends after Aragón: we need to score some important points, so the goals are podium and win. We’ll need to learn the track as it’s new for everybody, so it will be crucial to be as competitive as we can in the shortest time possible: the one who will find the best set-up will win.”
