On these slippery track conditions, Team Del Conca Gresini had a lot to cheer for as the 2018 Moto3 World Champion Jorge Martin claimed second place two positions ahead of who turned out to be the eventual runner-up this year \u2013 his team mate Fabio Di Giannantonio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The encounter itself was an elimination race \u2013 with at least 15 crashes, two of which happened to the other contender for the runner-up spot Bezzecchi. These setbacks paved the road to Diggia\u2019s well deserved second place in the championship. The Italian, who still regrets not being able to take the fight to the title up to the last race, can still be happy with his overall result.<strong><\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is not much else to say \u2013 that has not been said yet \u2013 about Martin, who claimed his 10<sup>th<\/sup>podium of the season after showing great maturity on track. Jorge took advantage of a slight mistake by Diggia and made sure to consolidate his second place as the race reached the final laps.<\/p>\n<p>An incredible season draws to a close with Jorge Martin and Fabio Di Giannantonio both making their way into Gresini Racing\u2019s history books. The team wishes both riders all the best for their future careers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup>&#8211; JORGE MARTIN #88 \u2013 WORLD CHAMPION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe goal was to finish on the podium. It wasn\u2019t easy given our starting position but I did all I could to get back to the front without taking too many risks. Diggia and I had a good pace and I capitalised on his mistake to pull away and seal second place. I\u2019m really happy for the team: we won it all this year and I\u2019m especially happy because Fausto deserved it. I hope the team will keep winning in the future. Thank you so much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>4<sup>th <\/sup>&#8211; FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 \u2013 RUNNER UP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really happy: at the beginning I managed to pass a lot of riders, but the race was tough. Once I saw that Bezzecchi had crashed out, I tried to control proceedings. When I had that moment on corner exit I decided to just go for the points I needed and as soon as I was told that fourth place was enough, that\u2019s all I cared about.
