It is quite unusual to analyse the timesheets and find Matteo Ferrari \u2018only\u2019 sixth, but his goal in today\u2019s free practice sessions at Jerez de la Frontera was clearly not to focus on the single-lap performance.<\/p>\n

The reigning MotoE world cup champion tried several settings in order to find the right feeling with the front fork. The standard bearer of Team Trentino Gresini ended up 0.448secs shy of the today\u2019s quickest lap but with great motivation ahead of the remaining two days of this season opener.<\/p>\n

The other side of the garage is unfortunately \u2013 but only temporarily \u2013 empty, as Alessandro Zaccone<\/strong> is due to undergo surgery for the injury suffered on Wednesday, and will do so at the HLA Jerez Puerta del Sur.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did a good job and managed to make up for the time lost on Wednesday. It\u2019s true, we\u2019re only sixth, but we worked exclusively on our race pace, and in that department at the moment I see only Granado as a real threat. In the afternoon we didn\u2019t try new tyres so we\u2019ll have more for tomorrow especially for the morning session which will have similar temperature to the race. We have solved the issues with the front fork \u2013 which was the main area to fix \u2013 and in FP2 we also addressed some things on the rear-end. We will have to do a long run tomorrow, and also add some quick laps at the beginning.
