Aleix Espargar\u00f3 rode his Aprilia RS-GP to the second row with the sixth best time in qualifying at the GP of Europe in Valencia. The result is well-deserved and comes after a series of extremely high-level sessions in vastly different conditions. Now his mind is on tomorrow\u2019s race which, if the weather cooperates, will be held on dry asphalt. Embarking on unknown scenarios in terms of tyre choice.<\/p>\n

Busy with his first qualifiers, Lorenzo Savadori found himself facing conditions that were anything but simple. The damp and gradually drying track, the frenzy of a fifteen-minute session, the need to push 100% with only a few miles under his belt: a situation in which the Italian rider demonstrated great determination, containing the gap and preparing as best as possible for his maiden MotoGP Championship race.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

“Today was another complicated day. The conditions changed continuously and knowing how to adapt was important. We did just that. I rode well in all the sessions and, what\u2019s more, if it hadn\u2019t been for a small mistake in qualifying, I could have done even better than sixth place. In any case, we are in good form. A spot on the second row is an outstanding result. Tomorrow we\u2019ll have the unknown factor of the tyres. We didn\u2019t have the chance to try them in the dry, so race management will be fundamental.”<\/em><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

\n“We took another step forward today. It\u2019s a pity the track conditions were always different. That doesn\u2019t help at all when we really need to lap with consistency. Maybe in qualifying we could have done a bit better, but it is a question of experience more than anything else. Maybe the tyre we used wasn\u2019t perfect for a track that changed a lot between FP4 and Q1. In any case, I am happy because my feeling has improved and the gaps are not bad.
