{"id":15343,"date":"2020-11-08T14:38:43","date_gmt":"2020-11-08T13:38:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gresiniracing.com\/europeangp-alcoba-rimonta-rodrigo-penalizzato\/"},"modified":"2020-11-08T14:39:29","modified_gmt":"2020-11-08T13:39:29","slug":"europeangp-alcoba-rimonta-rodrigo-penalizzato","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gresiniracing.com\/en\/europeangp-alcoba-rimonta-rodrigo-penalizzato\/","title":{"rendered":"#EUROPEANGP: COMEBACK FOR ALCOBA, PENALTY FOR RODRIGO  \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was an up-and-down Sunday for <strong>Team K\u00f6mmerling Gresini Moto3<\/strong> with both<strong> Jeremy Alcoba <\/strong>and <strong>Gabriel Rodrigo <\/strong>in the points at the end of the third-last event of the season at Valencia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alcoba<\/strong>, who was starting from 28<sup>th<\/sup> place on the grid, did well in getting up to speed quickly despite a poor start and put together an impressive comeback that ultimately saw him eighth at the line. The Spanish rider \u2013 who is racing with a neck issue \u2013 will have to work on his Saturday performance.<\/p>\n<p>Opposite path for <strong>Rodrigo<\/strong>, who lost ground from the front-runners in the early laps despite staying in position for a good result. An overtake on Suzuki \u2013 with the latter finishing in the gravel \u2013 was considered a bit too much by race direction who inflicted a long-lap penalty to Rodrigo, who was 15<sup>th<\/sup> at the chequered flag.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> K\u00f6mmerling Gresini Moto3 <\/strong>duo will have another chance for gold in a week\u2019s time at Cheste in the #ValenciaGP<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>8<sup>th<\/sup> &#8211; JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (13<sup>th<\/sup> in the championship standings \u2013 65 points)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI must say it wasn\u2019t an easy race. I was very nervous and that caused me neck pain. To be starting from so much back and with the group breaking so easy were not good for my motivation. I tried to do my own race anyway and if we look at the numbers it didn\u2019t go so bad, but I\u2019m still not happy at all with my weekend. There\u2019s a lot to learn and improve, especially on Saturday. We need to improve our starting position, get a better start \u2013 which is not my strongest point \u2013 and to keep improving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>15<sup>th<\/sup> &#8211; GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (10<sup>th <\/sup>in the championship standings \u2013 80 points)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was feeling good in the warm up but my start wasn\u2019t the best. In the early laps I found myself in the second group but I was doing a good race. Unfortunately the penalty for the coming together with Suzuki has changed our Sunday. To be honest, I don\u2019t agree much with the decision by race direction because Suzuki went wide and I was on the right line.
