{"id":17004,"date":"2021-06-05T14:52:11","date_gmt":"2021-06-05T12:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gresiniracing.com\/storico-1-2-nelle-qualifiche-di-montmelo\/"},"modified":"2021-06-05T14:53:04","modified_gmt":"2021-06-05T12:53:04","slug":"storico-1-2-nelle-qualifiche-di-montmelo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gresiniracing.com\/en\/storico-1-2-nelle-qualifiche-di-montmelo\/","title":{"rendered":"HISTORIC ONE-TWO IN MONTMEL\u00d3 QUALIFYING"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>#CatalanGP qualifying. <strong>Team Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 <\/strong>has raised the bar today and moved to the very front of the starting grid at Montmel\u00f3 &#8211; the venue hosting the sixth round of the season \u2013 as the two standard bearers of the Faenza-based squad scored a superb one-two in qualifying.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s result is an absolute first for the team in the quarter-litre class of MotoGP: the record-year 2018 was the last time two Gresini Racing riders were sharing the front row, albeit back then at Jerez it was Martin on pole and Di Giannantonio in third place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gabri Rodrigo<\/strong>\u2019s pole position was a sensational one, with the Argentine who looks as confident as ever after logging a 1\u201947.597secs (which is the new record for the revised track), which was three tenths of a second quicker than <strong>Jeremy Alcoba<\/strong>\u2019s \u2013 with the latter achieving his fifth front-row start out of the last eight races. Not too bad for a rider who used to consider himself not a time-attack master.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow\u2019s race will get underway at 11:20 local time (GMT +2)<\/p>\n<p><strong>1<sup>st<\/sup> &#8211; GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (1\u201947.597)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel even stronger than in Italy. I feel extremely comfortable on the bike and yesterday we also made some adjustments that added some extra confidence. Pole position is surely a great result in what I consider a home GP. Pole aside, in any case, we have a fantastic pace and I only hope that the weather will be favourable tomorrow so that we can have a great race. I pushed in the first sector and then I placed myself in the slipstream and I would say things went well.
