Matteo Ferrari<\/strong>\u2019s eighth place today at Spielberg has basically taken away all the chances for the Italian rider to enter as a contender the final doubleheader of the season at Misano.<\/p>\n

His ambition for this penultimate round were very different, especially as the #11 rider was able to secure a front-row start yesterday.<\/p>\n

In the five-lap sprint race (due to the risk of rain) Ferrari lost many positions during the first lap and had no time to put together a comeback. The eight points collected today leave him 32 points from the top of the standings (occupied by Zaccone)<\/p>\n

Andrea Mantovani <\/strong>put together a fierce battle that saw the series rookie close to the top ten courtesy to a good start and a good pace. The #9 rider was at times km his teammate\u2019s slipstream but was eventually 11th, claiming his second personal best result after Jerez.<\/p>\n

8th – MATTEO FERRARI #11 <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a difficult race. We had to put on fresh slick tyres on the grid and the feeling with the bike was nonexistent. We didn\u2019t even have a fully-dry set up, which didn\u2019t help. We made up a couple of places in the standings with today\u2019s eighth position, but now we can only aim at finishing the season in a good place at Misano. It\u2019s a pity, because we could have won.\u201d<\/p>\n

11th – ANDREA MANTOVANI #9 <\/strong><\/p>\n
