{"id":19766,"date":"2022-05-13T20:27:01","date_gmt":"2022-05-13T18:27:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gresiniracing.com\/ferrari-7-nelle-qualifiche-di-le-mans\/"},"modified":"2022-05-13T20:28:00","modified_gmt":"2022-05-13T18:28:00","slug":"ferrari-7-nelle-qualifiche-di-le-mans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gresiniracing.com\/en\/ferrari-7-nelle-qualifiche-di-le-mans\/","title":{"rendered":"SEVENTH PLACE FOR FERRARI IN LE MANS QUALIFYING"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Qualifying &#8211; #FrenchGP<\/i> The sun shone over Le Mans in the first day of free practice for MotoE, which as per this year\u2019s format is quite a busy one: after FP1, FP2 and qualifying, team <b>FELO Gresini Racing MotoE <\/b>was left with a bittersweet taste in their mouth as both riders improved but were not unable to capitalise in the grid-deciding session.<\/p>\n<p><b>Matteo Ferrari<\/b> had a good feeling with the bike and was second quickest in the combined times of today\u2019s free practice, which meant he entered qualifying directly from the second session. The result, however, did not match the expectations. The rider #11 will start the races from seventh place and will need to put together a good comeback.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>MotoE rookie<b> Alessio Finello <\/b>made the most of the two free practice session to learn everything there is to learn about the track while trying to get up to speed \u2013 as he improved his performance lap after lap. The rider #72 will line up in 17<sup>th<\/sup> place on the grid with the goal to make another step forward in race one tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p><b>7<\/b><b><sup>th<\/sup><\/b><b> &#8211; MATTEO FERRARI #11 (1&#8217;44.064)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a bit sorry with how qualifying went but I was expecting a bit more. The important thing is to understand where we did wrong. I could not make the 3-4 tenths step I thought I would do as I was losing ground in sectors two and four. We\u2019re working on it, we understood what the problem was, and we will make modifications ahead of the race. The goal is still to win, even from seventh place on the grid: we can do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>18<\/b><b><sup>th<\/sup><\/b><b> &#8211; ALESSIO FINELLO #72 (1&#8217;45.974)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not happy with this 18<sup>th<\/sup> place, even though from one side I cannot even be that much disappointment: the goal for today was to lap in the 1\u201945s and I did it. I\u2019m improving and I\u2019m motivated ahead of tomorrow\u2019s race, which is another opportunity to keep improving. We\u2019re heading in the right direction with the team and we\u2019re getting closer to the group ahead of us.
