The opening day of the French Grand Prix was one to remember for Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3<\/strong>, with their standard bearers Jorge Martin and Fabio Di Giannantonio first and fifth, respectively, in the second free practice session at Le Mans. It was the second hour of action the important one for the riders after the heavy rain that fell over the circuit in the late morning, which turned the track from damp to full-wet conditions.<\/p>\n

Jorge Martin<\/strong> dominated the session by logging a 1\u201952.716secs lap-time, which was six tenths of a second quicker than the one set by the rider in second place. The young Spaniard confirmed his great feeling with wet conditions, even more so if we consider that it was his very first time with rain tyres on his Honda NSF250RW. It was also a good performance for Fabio Di Giannantonio<\/strong>, who completed around 20 laps with a personal best time of 1\u201953.553.<\/p>\n

Should the sun decide to shine tomorrow morning, the FP3 session will be even more crucial ahead of Moto3 qualifying, which will get underway at 12:35 local time (GMT +2).<\/p>\n

1st – JORGE MARTIN #88<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re happy with how today went. It was quite a useless morning, but this afternoon I was glad to see that my feeling with the Honda on the wet is excellent, especially as it was my first time riding in these conditions with this bike. The new asphalt has allowed us to push even on fully wet conditions, so we\u2019re really happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

5th – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe morning session was a bit unusual, because with mixed conditions I chose not to take any risk. At least this afternoon the track conditions were stable: I wanted to push to understand where we are in terms of competitiveness and I have to say my feeling is great. Once I set the 1\u201953.5 lap-time I chose not to push any further but we\u2019re ready, eventually, for a wet qualifying and\/or race!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
