EIGHT POINTS FOR LOPEZ IN BARCELONA. CMPLICATE RACE FOR GARCIA
ALONSO LOPEZ #21
“Not the result we were expecting: this is one of those races we can learn a lot from. We’re working well and I’m confident the victory is close. Today we thought we had everything under control, but we pushed the rear tire too hard, so at the end of the race I couldn’t show our real potential. We’re still missing something small, but we’re motivated for the next races. On Tuesday we want to work on rear tire wear, which has been our main issue in this first part of the season: we want to fine-tune this aspect in order to finally make the decisive step forward.”
SERGIO GARCIA #3
“A race to forget. We knew tire wear on this track would be high, so in the opening laps I tried to ride more conservatively to limit the wear, but it wasn’t enough. I wasn’t able to maintain a good pace until the end of the race, especially in the final stages where I was really on the limit — it was very difficult to ride like that. Now we’re focusing on Tuesday’s test, where the main goal will be tire wear management and fast corners, which are my weak point. We are very eager to improve and get back to riding with confidence.”
