2016 Gresini Racing Team Moto3 Launched In Faenza
The twentieth Grand Prix racing season of Gresini Racing officially started today with the presentation of the 2016 racing programs for the Moto3 and Moto2 World Championships, held inside the new racing department of the team in Faenza, Italy.
On stage with Fausto Gresini, the two Gresini Racing Team Moto3 riders, Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio, unveiled the livery of the Honda NSF250RW machine with which they will be taking part in the 2016 Moto3 World Championship.
In the coming days the Gresini Racing Team Moto3 will be back in Spain for three days of pre-season testing at the Jerez circuit, before moving to Qatar to face the last official testing session ahead of the first Grand Prix on the calendar, scheduled on March 20.
ENEA BASTIANINI
“It was a really nice presentation, we had fun and I could see the new livery of my bike, it’s awesome! The important thing, however, it’s to make it go fast! We are confident for this season, the tests we have done so far have proved useful to understand what to improve on the bike and where can I make progress too. Our rivals are very competitive, but Honda is working really hard, also the basis of the data that we are providing them, and therefore I’m convinced that we will arrive at the first Grand Prix prepared to start the season on the right foot in Qatar. I can’t wait to be there!”.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“The new livery is amazing and seeing my racing number on the fairing is so cool! I can’t wait to be back on the saddle for the next test in Spain. So far we have made two testing sessions, in Valencia and Jerez, and both gave good results; of course we are still a bit far from the top, but it’s normal. We are only at the beginning, I still have to pick up the pace and I need to work a lot. I’m very happy with the team and as mentioned I cannot wait to get back on track! The goal of every rider is to win, of course, but the World Championship is very difficult and hard-fought, so I will face my debut with my feet firmly on the ground. My target is to grow constantly and to do always the best we can, step by step”.
FAUSTO GRESINI
“Today we presented our plans for the Moto3 World Championship on the eve of a season that promises to be exciting and important. For Bastianini this is the second year with Honda, and the third in Moto3, therefore Enea will start the season with a good knowledge of the bike and a good experience on his shoulders, although still very young. After fighting for the title in 2015, and the third place in the standings, this year we don’t hide that we have big ambitions, even though we know it won’t be easy, because our rivals are very strong. However, Honda has done a great job over the winter, Enea and the whole team are ready and confident. The Moto3 project has always fascinated me a lot and I’m putting a lot of energy on it: we have been investing on young riders for some years and now we want to achieve even greater
