POSITIVE RETURN TO ACTION FOR LOWES AT BRNO

It was a positive day for  Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 as Moto2 resumed action in Brno. Sam Lowes, who is looking for redemption after the subpar performance in Germany, showed great form and pace aboard his Kalex machine and finished the day in ninth place but only 0.283secs away from Di Giannantonio’s provisional pole time.

The Briton put in a lot of work with used tyres ahead of what is going to be a long race (19 laps) with the focus on the front-end of the bike and for qualifying, with the direct access to Q2 being crucial for a good spot on the grid. In this sense, the rain forecast for tomorrow morning might  have already decided the list of riders entering qualifying from the main door.

Moto2 action will resume at 10:55 local time (GMT+2) with FP3 followed by Q2 of the #CzechGP 2019 edition at 15:30.

9th – SAM LOWES #22

“Generally speaking it has been a good day for us. We worked almost the whole day with used tyres as we know from last year’s data that the tyre grip is going to decrease considerably in the last part of the race. We improved the bike behaviour in the corners, so we will analyse the data tonight and try to come up with a plan to improve the front-end feeling. Hopefully it won’t rain, although forecasts say otherwise.”
