THIRD ROW FOR DIGGIA, BULEGA 13TH AT LOSAIL
#DohaGP qualifying. Same circuit, very different conditions. The wind was the protagonist of today’s qualifying and Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 ended up struggling more then they had hoped. Despite that, a positive result came from Fabio Di Giannantonio who will head row three, while Nicolò Bulega claimed 13th place on the Qatari grid.
After yesterday’s performance in free practice, maybe the expectations were a bit higher for Fabio Di Giannantonio, but seventh is still a good place where to start for the Italian, who is known for being a ‘race animal’. Track conditions did not allow the #21 to find the right consistency this weekend. A similar fate for Nicolò Bulega, who tomorrow from 18:20 will hunt for his first points of the season on the Federal Oil Gresini Moto2-liveried Kalex machine.
7th – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (1’59.696)
“A positive day; we will start in the same position as last week and that’s good. I’m still missing something to be able to push to the maximum in qualifying. The changeable conditions did not help me improve, but I must say we have a competitive package so we will try to stay with the leaders also tomorrow and put up a fight.”
13th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (2’00.012)
“Today we struggled a bit with track conditions. This morning the wind has held us back quite a lot, while this afternoon we did better although we’re still missing something. We need to work to find something that will make me feel more comfortable and confident.”
