EXCITING PERFORMANCE FOR DIGGIA ON DAY ONE AT SACHSENRING

GermanGP Free Practice. Few hours after the announcement of his promotion in MotoGP with Team Gresini, Fabio Di Giannantonio kept his focus and finished third in the combined times of today’s free practice sessions at the Sachsenring.

The standard bearer of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 immediately found great feeling and competitive lap-times both on the time attack and on the longer run. After a second place in the morning, the third place overall grants him a direct seed to tomorrow’s Q2.

Nicolò Bulega had more of a challenging day even though his goal was to find the right synergy with his Kalex machine now that he is back being nearly 100% fit. The Italian completed a significant number of laps in order to work on some small adjustments, while tomorrow he will aim at the quickest possible lap time in FP3. Moto2 action will resume at 10:55 local time (GMT +2).

3rd – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (1’24.639)

“Generally speaking I’m very happy. We were fast in both session and we also managed to complete a sort of race simulation with excellent results. We race pace is there and so is the single lap performance. I also got stuck in traffic during my last lap so I think we still have some margin to improve.”

25th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (1’25.727)

“Things didn’t go too bad despite the lap time. I feel good on the bike and we tried many things in order to find the right set up for the race. We worked without focusing on the pure performance, as what mattered the most today was to find the right feeling and a decent pace. With new tyres tomorrow it will be a different story.”
