NO QUALIFYING IN QATAR: NAVARRO 17TH ON THE GRID FOR MOTO2 RACE

The torrential rain that has been falling on Qatar’s Losail International Circuit has forced the MotoGP Race Direction to stop beforehand all of Saturday’s on-track activities. With no qualifying times recorded, the grid for tomorrow’s 20-lap Moto2 race is determined by the combined times of all three free practice sessions.

Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2’s Jorge Navarro, who was looking forward to some more track time ahead of his Moto2 race debut, will have to launch himself from 17th place on the grid, sixth row.

The first race of the 2017 Moto2 World Championship will start at 19:20 local time (GMT +3).

JORGE NAVARRO
“We’ll have to make the most of tomorrow’s warm up, as 17th on the grid is definitely not the best position where to start the race from. We surely could have improved today, but with some changes to the setup and a good start, I think we can still have a good race.”
