APRILIA SEEKS REDEMPTION AFTER THE BRNO WEEKEND
Just day after the Brno race, the MotoGP circus will be back on the track at the Red Bull Ring. It is a decidedly particular circuit: with the highest average speed of the entire calendar, its 4.3 kilometres include long straights, broken up by 3 left-handers and 7 right-handers.
For Aprilia, it is an immediate chance for redemption after the GP of the Czech Republic where Aleix Espargaró and Scott Redding struggled. Although finishing the race in the points on Sunday and moving up several positions from his starting position, Aleix knows that he can set his sights on more important placements, whereas Scott is anxious to resume the growth trend he had begun in the recent championship rounds.
A day of testing on Monday in Brno let riders and the team continue development of the RS-GP, trying solutions on the track that could be useful as early as this coming weekend.
ALEIX ESPARGARO’
“We are coming from a difficult weekend, where we were never able to find the rhythm. We need to understand which factors are limiting us. Despite the pain and fatigue, I participated in the Brno tests precisely because I wanted to try out some new setup solutions.”
SCOTT REDDING
“In spite of the result, I know that I gave it my all in Brno and I am headed to Austria with the same motivation. We need to forget quickly and get back to work with more determination than before. The tests on Monday went rather well. We found some interesting solutions that could help us straight away.”
