#AUSTRIANGP: POSITIVE QUALIFYING FOR TEAM KÖMMERLING GRESINI
It was surely a good saturdYayay for both riders of Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 who in Austria have represented well the light-and-blue banner with Gabriel Rodrigo seventh at the chequered flag of Q2.
The Argentine rider, who had often done even better in qualifying, has put in a great deal of work while searching for the perfect feeling with his Honda NSF250RW #2 as he claimed a promising third row ahead of a fifth race of the year filled with expectation.
A bit more complicated but positive nevertheless the day of Jeremy Alcoba. The Spaniard, who shone in the wet conditions of FP3, was forced to go through Q1 before finishing 18th. A mistake on the final lap prevented him from claiming a spot in the overall top ten.
Both riders’ race pace is however very solid and that could place them among the protagonists of the #AustrianGP which takes place tomorrow from 11:00 local time (GMT+2).
7th – GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (1’36.571)
“Too bad, because with the second set of tyres I got in the slipstream of a slightly slower rider and I didn’t manage to be ask quick as I could have, but I must say that the feeling with the bike is at the top – and that’s something we have been searching for quite a while. I think tomorrow we can have a good race. The circuit could make for an encounter with many groups and we start from a decent position on the grid, so I’m very confident for this #AustrianGP.”
18th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’37.565)
“I’m happy because we improved a lot compared to yesterday and I must say we were not too bad with the rain. We’re quite ready with both track conditions and maybe even stronger in the wet. We worked well in Q1 even though I struggled in finding the right feeling. We did a good time which I repeated in Q2 but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. I made a mistake in the last quick lap attempt and without it I could have finished in the top ten, so that’s a little bit disappointing.”
