BACK TO EUROPE: ITALJET GRESINI MOTO2 RIDERS ON HOME TURF AT JEREZ
The ITALJET GRESINI Moto2 team is ready to get back on track at Jerez de la Frontera, one of the most technical and iconic circuit on the world championship calendar. A flowing layout, heavy braking zones and a sequence of fast corners and direction changes: after the opening three overseas rounds, the return to Europe marks a key moment of the 2026 season.
Alonso López heads to Jerez after showing steady progress in the opening races, adapting quickly to the new bike and improving his feeling and performance weekend after weekend. The front row secured in Austin confirmed the potential of the technical package, and in Spain the target is clear: turn speed into a strong result.
Sergio Garcia, coming from more difficult races, has made the most of these weeks off to recover his best physical condition and step up his training programme. Jerez is a special round for him: racing at home, in front of his crowd and with the support of the people close to him, will be extra motivation to approach the weekend with determination and regain positive momentum from the very first laps.
ALONSO LOPEZ #21
“I arrive in Jerez with no expectations, but with a huge desire to make another step forward. In the first three overseas races we got closer and closer to the front, and I think here, which is my home race, we will have even more motivation to put together a strong weekend. I’m motivated and I can’t wait to get back on my bike, to be at the front already from the first sessions and deliver on Sunday: we are aiming high!”
SERGIO GARCIA #3
“Jerez is a very nice track, where all the riders had strong preparation thanks to the two days of winter testing, so the level will be high from the start. We are coming from a couple of difficult races, especially Austin, where I didn’t feel at my best, particularly on Sunday, as I wasn’t physically at my best. During these weeks off I trained really well and I feel ready. We are motivated and I can’t wait to get on track and show everything I know I can do.”
