Bastianini And Di Giannantonio Get Back To Business At Jerez Irta Test
The Jerez circuit in Spain hosted today the first of three days of official Moto3 testing: after the team presentation, held in Faenza last February 26, the Gresini Racing Team Moto3 returned to the track with both riders, Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio, to continue the preparation ahead of the Grand Prix season opener.
Bastianini was the fourth fastest rider on track and he was particularly pleased with the changes made towards the end of the day to his Honda NSF250RW machine; his teammate, rookie Fabio Di Giannantonio, made the most of the experience accumulated last week during the tests on the same track, continuing to deepen the knowledge of his bike and setting a good lap time in the final stages of today’s third and final session.

“Today was a good day, we were able to be fast enough with the hard tyre and we kept a pretty good pace. I’m pretty satisfied with how these tests started mainly because towards the end of the day we made some changes to the bike, finding a solution that seems to work very well. At the end, then, I also put the softer tyre, but in this case we were not able to express our potential: therefore we must work to make some progress in this condition”.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“Today we started the test exactly as we had finished the previous one, last week, using exactly the same set-up and at the end of today’s last session I also set the same lap time as one week ago. I’m happy because it means that we maintained the same level reached during previous tests, but now I feel that I have learned many other things. Today we also took some risks and this allowed us to understand more the limit of the bike, and that’s important. We need time, but we are learning more and more, step by step. The base set-up is good so now I just need to make a lot of laps and continue to learn”.
