Bastianini And Di Giannantonio Kick Off 2016 Preparations At Valencia
Gresini Racing Team Moto3 riders Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio were back in action today at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia to face the first testing day of the year aboard their new Honda NSF250RW Moto3 machines.
After a long winter break, the main focus for both riders was to regain the necessary confidence on the bike; unfortunately, a rain shower in the afternoon slowed their plans, with Bastianini that could only complete 25 laps, while Di Giannantonio put in 32 laps.
Enea and Fabio will be back on track tomorrow for the second and final day at Valencia, after which the team will move to Jerez De La Frontera for another two-day test on the 23rd and 24th of February.

“To be back on track, no matter what, is always a good sensation: it means that finally the races are approaching! Basically we used this first day to regain the necessary confidence with the bike, although the arrival of rain didn’t allow us to put in many laps. We didn’t work on the bike setup yet, but only small adjustments regarding my position on the bike and things like that. However, it was a useful day, we enjoyed it: it’s always nice to get back on track at the beginning of the year. Tomorrow, we will start to make the first setup adjustments and surely lap by lap we will find out the direction to follow”.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“It was a good day because I like the new bike and it seems to work very well! Obviously, I still need to get the right feeling to be able to push harder and I want to do it gradually, without rush into things. Therefore today I didn’t push a lot, I just tried to take step by step the necessary confidence. Unfortunately because of the rain I could only complete 32 laps, which are not many. Tomorrow we will continue to work, hoping that there will be the opportunity to put in more kilometers”.
