BULEGA NARROWLY MISSES TOP10 IN ANDALUCIA GP

Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 does not shine at Jerez de la Frontera in the second of two back-to-back rounds despite showing great improvement both in yesterday’s qualifying and today’s race.

Nicolò Bulega took the best result today as he finished 12th. The Italian rider, who started the race from the eighth place on the grid, was aiming for more, but the difficulties in finding the right set up with scorching temperatures has hampered his progression.

A similar situation for Edgar Pons, who once again just missed out on a top-15 finish – like a week ago he was 16th at the line – as he lacked rear-grip throughout the whole encounter – a key aspect for aiming at the top ten.

There is now a week break before the next trip to Czech Republic, for the fourth round of the season which takes place at the Automotodrom Brno.

 12th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11

“We can’t be happy because our goals were and have to be higher. Some points are always welcome but I repeat, we must work hard in order to be near the front and battle for honours. Now we have some days off but then it’s all about Brno, which is a track I like a lot.”

16th – EDGAR PONS #57

“It’s been a really tough race: we were among the quickest and with better feeling compared to the last outing. Unfortunately we quickly lost rear grip and I started to lose some positions while I lost touch with the group Nicolò was in. I was losing a couple of tenths per lap, I wasn’t able to keep the lines I wanted but we must stay positive and improve especially in the second half of the race. We will do better at Brno no doubt.”
