DIGGIA STORMS TO MAIDEN MOTOGP WIN IN QATAR

It was an incredible Qatar Grand Prix the one that wrapped up today in Qatar for Fabio Di Giannantonio, who in two days has scored one race win, one second place in the sprint race and a front-row start. The 34 points bagged this weekend make a massive difference for the momentum of the Italian rider heading into the season finale at Valencia – which takes place next weekend.

The #49 was perfect for all the 22 laps of the #QatarGP race, as he overtook first his teammate Alex Marquez and then did the same on Luca Marini and, with five laps left, on Pecco Bagnaia. His pace was superb, and his racecraft simply perfect.

Alex Marquez crossed the line in sixth place, and he could have used a bit more luck. The battle for third with Binder cost him plenty of time and the chances to win the race. Nevertheless, this is another important result for the Spanish rider, who is now tenth in the standings and only two points away from Quartararo.

1st – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #49 (12th in the standings with 134 points)

I really wanted this win, but it wasn’t easy. We absolutely didn’t want to make any mistake while battling with Pecco for the win. I made a clean pass and earned a great satisfaction. The bike today was perfect and I must thank the team for the crazy work done. We’ll try again in Valencia!”

6th – ALEX MARQUEZ #73 (10th in the standings with 165 points)

“We fixed yesterday’s issues but I struggled in the battle with Binder and that cost me a lot of time. We did a good race, but today Fabio was really great so aside from the compliments to him we will also study something from his side in order to keep growing.”
