#EMILIAROMAGNAGP: ALCOBA 10th, RODRIGO WAY DOWN

Today has been quite an unusual Saturday for Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 who has very often been among the protagonists in qualifying so far this year. Today was a quite different story, however, with Rodrigo unable to partake Q2 while Jeremy Alcoba was ‘only’ 10th.

The Spanish rider himself was hoping to claim a better position on the grid after doing so well yesterday and despite almost matching yesterday’s time (+0.003secs) he will line up on row four for the #EmiliaRomagnaGP.

It was a day to forget for Gabriel Rodrigo, who crashed out twice in the morning – fortunately without any consequence to himself – at turns three and 15, which surely did not help his performance. Forced to take part in Q1, the Argentine rider was pipped at the chequered flag when he was second. He will line up in 19th place on the grid for the race, which will get underway tomorrow morning at 11:00 local time (GMT +2).

10th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’42.129)

“I’m not too happy, we could and we wanted to be much closer to the front of the grid. The quick lap wasn’t too bad and I clearly lacked a slipstream, which for someone with the body type like me is key… The bike works well and tomorrow we can be part of the game.”

19th – GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (1’42.564)

“Unfortunately, I made a couple of mistakes in Q1 which compromised my qualifying performance. We have a good pace and it’s clear that we need a good start and no mistakes. Everything is possible in Moto3.”
