ENCOURAGING FRIDAY AT ARAGON

It is said “well begun, half done”. This is why, after the opening day of action, things look good for QJMOTOR GRESINI Moto2, who see both riders provisionally seeded to Q2. After the Misano test, Albert Arenas is back on competitive form: he made the most of free practice to confirm the good feeling found during testing, before setting a streak of quick lap-times in Practice 1 and finished sixth with a best lap of 1’51.407secs.

Manuel Gonzalez got up to speed straight away and found a good feeling again at his home track, despite the difficult track conditions encountered in the morning session. In the afternoon, he took advantage of the time available to focus on his race pace: there is still something to fine tune, with the goal of making another step forward ahead of Sunday. He finished the day ninth quickest, with a time of 1’51.633secs.

6th – ALBERT ARENAS #75 (1’51.407s)

“First day at Aragon, my home track: it’s always nice to race here! I’m happy: we managed to complete our work program and lapped well. Now we’ll analyse the whole day, but I must say in Practice 1 we confirmed the good feeling found at Misano, we did make a step. Now we need to keep working and stay focused ahead of tomorrow.”

9th – MANUEL GONZALEZ #18 (1’51.633s)

“Today is a good day: we’re back on a track I like and where I’ve always had good races. I felt strong with the bike already in free practice, despite the dirty track, I was competitive. In the afternoon, we turned our attention on the race pace: we still need something to be quicker and need to work also with the new tyre. Other teams have tested here so we missed something, but we’ll improve tomorrow!”
