ENCOURAGING FRIDAY AT SACHSENRING WITH BOTH RIDERS IN PROVISIONAL Q2

Free Practice – #GermanGP The opening day of action for team Moto2 QJMOTOR GRESINI at the Sachsenring sees both riders with a provisional direct seed to Q2. Filip Salač felt good aboard his Moto2 machine as in the dry conditions of FP1 he was able to log a 1’24.407secs lap-time that gave him fourth place in the combined times of today’s two Free Practice sessions. The mixed conditions encountered in the afternoon did not allow him to further improve, but this first day bodes well ahead of qualifying.

Jeremy Alcoba also had a good day, as he finished half a second away from his teammate in FP1 and was eventually 12th in the combined classification. He is also at the moment among those riders with provisional access to Q2. Both QJMOTOR GRESINI standard bearers will need to be in the top 14 at the end of FP3 in order to not have to go through qualifying 1.

4th – FILIP SALAČ #12 (1’24.407)

“It was a positive day for us: we were quick throughout all morning session in dry conditions, and we managed to set a competitive lap-time with the softer tyre. FP2 were characterized by mixed conditions, meaning we couldn’t improve any further for today.”

12th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’24.970)

“I’m happy with today; we’re twelfth and quite close to top six. The feeling was good in the dry and we saw where we can improve some more. It rained during FP2 and we kind of lacked a bit of feeling with mixed conditions, but if it rains we know where to work on in order to gain more confidence.”
