ANOTHER FRONT-ROW SEAT FOR ENEA
Since the end of the summer break, Enea Bastianini has been on the front row of the grid three times in a row, one of which on pole position. The streak therefore continues at the #AragonGP with the standard bearer of Team Gresini Racing MotoGP third in today’s qualifying.
The lack of grip on the Spanish track did not halt the march of the rider #23, who secured the direct seed to Q2 in his last attempt during the morning’s FP3, while in the afternoon he basically dominated the session before being edged by the current official Ducati riders Bagnaia and Miller.
It was an unfortunate Q1 for Fabio Di Giannantonio who first found a slowing-down (Aleix) Espargaró in the way and then two yellow flags – which took away any chance left for a Q2 access.
ENEA BASTIANINI #23 (1’46.313)
“I’m very happy, especially because we have constantly been on the front row since the end of the summer break. We have a great rhythm so we can have great race, even though I too will experience the big drop of the tyres on this asphalt. We don’t know what our final strategy will be but I want to start the race in attack mode.”
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #49 (1’47.119)
“A 46.8s lap-time was possible, but luck was not on our side today. I must say that we made a huge step forward with the bike compared to yesterday so, bad luck aside, we are still happy with the job done. We have a good pace for tomorrow; I feel the bike as my own so with a good start we could battle for something important.”
