FELO GRESINI MOTOE TEAM BACK ON TRACK: FROM AUSTRIA TO THE BALATON DEBUT

The summer break has come to an end for the Felo Gresini MotoE team, as they kick off again in Austria before making their way to the brand-new track on the 2025 calendar: Balaton. Matteo Ferrari, after two unfortunate rounds, is eager to make up ground, recover crucial points, and vie again for the top positions that count. His teammate Alessio Finello, who matched his 2024 performance in the opening races, now aims to raise the bar and strive for more.

The two sky-blue standard-bearers capitalised on the summer hiatus to train both on the fast and technical Austrian layout and to familiarise themselves with the brand-new Balaton layout. They are now primed for two intense weeks, where they will push to fly the team’s colours high. Starting Friday, strong qualifying sessions will be vital to secure front-row starting positions for both Saturday races.

MATTEO FERRARI #11

“It’s been a long break: we’ve recharged our batteries well, and I did a few test days at both Balaton and the Red Bull Ring, where we even met some of our rivals. It was very useful to be there, especially to learn the Balaton layout, which will be new to most of us. Of course, the bike was different from the one we’ll race this weekend, but at least we already know the racing lines. I feel in really good shape—probably the best I’ve felt all year. I’ve kept up training and feel confident and quick on the bike. Now we just have to convert that into results on Saturday. We’ll give absolutely everything: this is a critical phase of the championship, especially for us, since we need to recover many points and return to where it matters. We’re close, and with the right determination, we can make it happen! We’re arriving fired up and will take it one race at a time.”

ALESSIO FINELLO #72

“During this break, I trained really hard and even raced in the Italian Championship to stay in shape—also because the first two races didn’t go as I had hoped. I scored decent placements on par with last year, but this season I’m aiming much higher. I kept my head down and worked nonstop throughout the break; I also tested at Balaton, the new track for 2025, and at Austria’s Red Bull Ring to regain familiarity with both circuits and be even more prepared. I’m happy: I feel good on the training bike and believe I’ve been quite fast, especially in these last few days. I’ve been focusing a lot on consistency and endurance in high temperatures. I’m confident ahead of the next two rounds: I can’t wait to be back in Austria, back on my MotoE, reunited with the team, and to pick up where we left off. I feel positive and believe that hard work will eventually pay off with solid results. I’ll give 100% in every session and want to maximize every opportunity—there will be no holding back in these races.”
