FERRARI CRASHES AND BOUNCES BACK: HE IS EIGHTH IN QUALIFYING AND ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN TOMORROW
MATTEO FERRARI #11
“It was, generally speaking, a very positive day, where we manage every session well even though the conditions were tough in Practice and Qualifying. I’m sorry because I made a mistake in Q2, I was in my first time attack and the tyres were still not in the right temperatures – and I ended up crashing at turn four. I managed to get back on the bike and made up two positions – and therefore one row on the starting grid – which are very important for tomorrow. The important thing, anyway, is that the feeling was really good also in the wet: we may have deserved to be on the front/second row, but that’s how it went instead. We know we’ll have to put together an even greater comeback tomorrow.”
ALESSIO FINELLO #72
“The day started off in a bit of a difficult way, especially given the two-month break and the fact that we haven’t lapped a lot at this track. We made amends in Practice by getting the direct seed to Q2: I must thank Luca Gresini for his experience and intelligence. He suggested me to take to the track with the slick in mixed conditions during Practice and it ended up being the winning strategy which allowed me to make it into Q2. In qualifying, instead, it started raining before the session and in the wet I was unable to get a good feeling. We finished ninth and overall I’m happy with this Friday. We’ll have fun tomorrow and try to do our best!”
