FERRARI STRAIGHT TO Q2 TO QUALIFY ON SECOND ROW
MATTEO FERRARI #11
“An encouraging Friday: we immediately found back the speed showed in Barcelona and Le Mans, in both dry and wet conditions. I’m happy with the step made in Q2, we were missing something but we improved the set-up. The strategy wasn’t excellent, I found myself behind Baldassarri for a couple of laps and lost the chance to set the time; in the last attempt, we managed to bring home a 1’40.1, but I’m sure a 1’39 was within reach. The second row is still a good result, we’re starting near the front and I’m happy: we have the potential to do well, even though we have to improve in a couple of spots of the circuit and we’ll work on that tomorrow.”
ALESSIO FINELLO #72
“It was a positive day. This morning, in the rain, I felt immediately good and it’s crucial to have a good feeling in every condition. I struggled a little more in the Practice and had to go through Q1, but we learned what we have to work on, and this allowed us to make solid step for qualifying. We’ll start the races from twelfth position, and I’m sorry about that because we’re competitive, I was feeling good and I’m aware that I could have done more in the Practice to get a direct seed to Q2. Lessons can be learned from mistakes, too, but generally speaking I’m happy with the step made today: it’ll be two tough races, but I’m ready for the battle.”
