FERRARI HALF A SECOND AWAY FROM DUTCH PODIUM

#DutchGP race. Team Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE continues its upward trend as Matteo Ferrari managed to secure his so-far best result of the season – a fourth place in today’s race at Assen. In today’s seven-lap MotoE encounter, the former World Cup champion did well in staying focused after after a near-drama situation at the start, and then by overtaking both Tulovic and Okubo. The thirteen points claimed today allow the #11 rider to move up to seventh place in the standings.

Andrea Mantovani also managed to finished in the top 15 as he wraps up a challenging weekend with a very encouraging performance. The series rookie made great use of today’s track time to gather further experience in the category ahead of the next round in the calendar – taking place at Spielberg, Austria, in one and a half months.

4th – MATTEO FERRARI #11

(7th in the world cup standings – 40 points)

“At the start some riders blocked the line in front of me and I lost some positions – and almost crashed out of the race. It took me a while to pass Okubo, but I had the pace to stay with the leaders so today’s race is definitely a positive one. Too bad for the start, because otherwise we would have been up there fighting for the podium.”

14th – ANDREA MANTOVANI #9

(15th in the world cup standings – 12 points)

“It’s been a very challenging weekend, but in the end we are going home with something… and that wasn’t a given. The best news of this racing weekend is Matteo’s result, which gives me even greater motivation to keep working and get to Austria in the very best form. We left it all out there today – as always.”
