PODIUM FOR FERRARI AT JEREZ

Matteo Ferrari’s 2020 season started off in a good way as the Italian gave Team Trentino Gresini MotoE their first podium with a hard fought second place at Jerez de la Frontera.

The defending title winner got off to a good start from fourth place and had to make his way up with two brilliant passes on Medina (lap one) and on Tulovic (lap five) in order to score his first 20 points of the season. As soon as he got clear track ahead of him, Ferrari was unable to bridge the gap with Granado who in the meantime had already checked out in what was a shortened race (six laps instead of seven).

No time to rest for Team Trentino Gresini MotoE who will stay in Andalucia another week as the second round of the season will take place at the same venue from Friday, with the hope to see Alessandro Zaccone back in action as well.

2nd – MATTEO FERRARI #11

“I’m very happy with these first points. Unfortunately I made a small mistake at the beginning of the race which cost me a lot of time from Granado and it was impossible to bridge the gap with him. I stayed focused and managed to pass Tulovic. It’s surely a good start, but we can do a little more already next week. For now I would like to thank who did a great job and send a hug to Zaccone.”
