GARCIA MAKES IT THROUGH Q1, POSITIVE DEBUT FOR PAWELEC

SERGIO GARCIA #3

“Today we made a big step forward compared to yesterday, and this afternoon in Q1 the feeling with the bike improved even more. I felt really comfortable, to the point of setting the fastest time and securing access to Q2. I was confident I could repeat that performance and fight for a good grid position, but instead I struggled to find the same feeling again and wasn’t able to put together a strong lap. Tomorrow we will therefore have to come through from eighteenth position on the grid.”

 MILAN PAWELEC #40

“I am really happy for this opportunity, but first of all I want to send my thoughts to Alonso Lopez and wish him a speedy recovery. I want to thank everyone; being here in Brno is a dream come true for me. I also had a wildcard appearance here last year, but we don’t have a lot of experience with this bike yet. The goal today was therefore to keep improving and enjoy the experience: the team is extremely well organised, and I am adapting lap by lap to the bike. In qualifying we managed to improve again during the first run, but unfortunately in the second outing I was on my own and couldn’t lower my lap time further. Now we focus on tomorrow: we will start from the back, but we will give our best and try to enjoy the race!”
