#GERMANGP: NAVARRO LOOKING TO IMPROVE ON FIRST HALF OF THE LAP

Jorge Navarro has completed an encouraging opening day of action at the Sachsenring, where the ninth Grand Prix of the of the 2017 Moto2 World Championship is currently being contested. The young rider of team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 was able to make the most of the morning’s dry track conditions as he set the 10th quickest time of 1’25.713.

The afternoon’s downpour that took place during MotoGP free practice 2 brought to a complete change of scenario for the riders of the middleweight class, which had to ride in mixed conditions for the majority of the session.

The best lap-times were logged, in fact, only during the final minutes of FP2, with Jorge able to complete 15 laps while trying to find the best feeling with his Kalex Honda machine #9. At the end of the day, Navarro was 13th overall in the combined times of both sessions after turning his attention mostly to the race set-up.

Moto2 action will resume tomorrow at 10:55 local time (GMT +2) for FP3, which will be followed by a qualifying session that is likely to be contested under rainy conditions.

13th – JORGE NAVARRO #9

“We started off on the right foot this morning and with only a couple of changes to the set-up I was amongst the quickest riders. In the afternoon we chose to work mainly with used tyres and full tank and we realised that there is still to improve in the first two sectors, where I love sixth tenths of a second. This is going to be our target for tomorrow. I would like to wish Jorge (Martin) a speedy recovery: I’ve been through the same last year and I know how hard it is to be sidelined by an injury. I send him a hug and I hope he will be back as soon as possible!”
