GONZALEZ BOUNCES BACK TO FIFTH PLACE AT ARAGON

Manuel Gonzalez’s charge towards the top of the field did not have the best of starts as from tenth place on the grid, the Spaniard lost two positions due to a coming together with an opponent. But after that, his comeback began, as the rider #18 wants to do well in front of his home crowd and courtesy of a renewed strong feeling with his Kalex machine, he managed to make his way back to fifth place at the chequered flag.

It was a Sunday to forget for Albert Arenas: the not-ideal tyre choice compromised a race in which he could have made the difference. From ninth on the grid, he tried to keep the pace, but the tyre prevented him to do so, as he dropped back to eighteenth position at the finish line. We will make amends at Misano!

5th – MANUEL GONZALEZ #18

“It was a very positive day for use: we didn’t know which rear tyre to chose so it was almost like a gamble! It went well for us as I started off strongly but then somebody hit me, and I ended up losing several positions. I knew the race would be a long one, so I kept calm, while keeping my pace. The set-up was very different compared to yesterday and I was feeling really comfortable. This is a positive fifth-place finish, even though I feel we could have done even better: we’ll try again in Misano!”

18th – ALBERT ARENAS #75

“The race was ruined already on lap one as the tyre grip began fading, and that compromised the whole race. It’s a shame because we had a good weekend, and we had the pace to battle near the front. I’m disappointed, but it is what it is. Luckily we’ll be back in action in less than five days: we will do our best to bounce back!”
