Good Results For Gresini Racing Team Moto3 Riders As Jerez Test Comes To A Close

Gresini Racing Team Moto3 racers completed today the second and final day of private testing at the Spanish circuit of Jerez de la Frontera. Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio continued to work with good results on their Honda NSF250RW machines and also the lap times were good.

The 18-year-old rider from Rimini slightly improved his best lap time from yesterday, setting 1’47”632, while the 17-year-old rookie from Rome made a big step forward by substantially improving his yesterday’s performance, closing the test with a time of 1’48”187.

ENEA BASTIANINI (1’47”632 – 41 laps)
“Today we the track conditions were slightly worst than yesterday, then some setting solutions we tried on the bike didn’t work out as we wished. Despite everything we are happy: I had a good rhythm and at the end of the day I managed to set the same time obtained yesterday. However, there is room for improvement, both with regard to the race pace, where we are still lacking a few tenths, both in the flying lap. The changes we tried in order to improve the bike in the fast corners worked well, but they had an impact on the slower parts of the track, so we will need to find the right balance. We will try to do it in the next test and I’m convinced that we will succeed”.

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO (1’48”187 – 38 laps)
“I’m really happy: this morning I was immediately faster than yesterday despite the cold and the wind, then in the afternoon, following another rider, I have improved further. Finally, in the last session available today, with the soft tyre, I got my best performance running alone. We worked a lot on the bike, with important changes that seem to work; in particular, we focused on the front end and on corner entry, finding already a good direction”.

FAUSTO GRESINI
“Two days of testing undoubtedly positive and very helpful ahead of the official test at the beginning of March: Enea has already proven to have found the right speed and he’s focusing with his technicians to refine the set-up of his bike, working methodically . Something is still missing on the race pace, but we are on the right direction. Fabio on the other side is facing his debut in the best possible way, growing well, and the performance achieved today confirms it. In a few days we will be back in Spain for the IRTA test, where we will try to find important confirmations”.
