WIND HOLDS MARQUEZ BACK, BUT HE STILL MAKES IT TO Q2

It was a two-sided Friday for Team Gresini MotoGP, with Alex Marquez among the protagonists this morning with the third-quickest time in FP1, before having more of a difficult time due to the afternoon’s strong winds. The Spanish rider still managed to improve his lap-time between the two sessions, but just for a few milliseconds: he is tenth quickest at the end of the day, a good-enough result to make it into Q2 with relative ease.

Fabio Di Giannantonio, on the other hand, he is 18th and far from the top of the timesheets. The Italian still need to find the best feeling with his Desmosedici machine and he will once again be forced to go through Q1. A pity for the #49, who was among the top ten for a big part of FP1.

 10th – ALEX MARQUEZ #73 (1’32.581)

“It was a very productive day without a doubt, even though in the afternoon we struggled a bit more due to the wind. Despite the harder time, we still made it into Q2. We need to work well tomorrow and understand where to improve. We still miss a bit of feeling with the front end, but I’m confident.”

18th – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #49 (1’33.304)

“I was expecting to be closer to the front guys, but we struggled quite a bit. We need to improve in general, but we have margin and, in this regard, the FP3 will be key; the work however starts right now with data analysis, in order to make it into Q2 as it is within our reach.”
