AUSTRIA AWAITS TEAM FEDERAL OIL
There is no time to rest for Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2, with the team about to tackle two back-to-back rounds with many question marks at Spielberg following the disappointing results of Brno. The first of two weekends might be affected by weather conditions as rain is expected to make its appearance, and the track is very different to the one that hosted the Czech GP.
Nicolò Bulega and Edgar Pons will try to take advantage of all sessions in this ‘double round’ in order to find those tenths of a second that are preventing the Federal Oil duo to get closer to the front. The Italian rider, in particular, will try to improve his positioning in the championship standings, while the Spaniard – who is still looking for his first championship points, will need to focus on adapting to his Kalex machine on a track that should suit his riding style well.
In light of the expectations for the Czech trip, it will be crucial for both riders to work on the single-lap performance that could give them a better starting position – as their pace has never been questioned.

“I can’t say I love the Austrian track, but we need to make sure we get to like it, especially as we’ll race there two times. There are long straights which will need good acceleration out of corners as well as top speed, but it will also important to score good results in qualifying in order to not repeat the situation of Brno, as the pace was good but the starting position not so much.”

“This is a track that I know better compared to Brno and one that suits my riding style better – and surely is a much simpler layout. From one side I expect something better from this track, although on the other hand I feel that the competition will be very high and the gaps between riders even smaller. It might rain, so it will be interesting to see how the bike performs under different weather conditions. The goal is to keep improving.”
