MANTOVANI AND FERRARI OUT OF TOP10 IN FRENCH FRIDAY

#FrenchGP Free Practice. The French Grand Prix did not start well for the Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE team who did not manage to perform as expected, especially with Matteo Ferrari who was only 13th at the end of the first two free practice sessions.

The #11 basically missed both sessions due to two separate battery issues and, with the only quick-lap time being cancelled, he logged a personal best of 1’45.498secs, more than one and half seconds away from the top.

Things went a bit better for his teammate Andrea Mantovani 11th at the end of the day (1’45.254secs). This was a positive result for the rider #9, who got to grips with the track for the first time today.

11th – ANDREA MANTOVANI #9

“Everything was new for me today, especially in FP1, while in the afternoon we were able to make a further step forward. It wasn’t easy, but we’re getting more confident session after session while learning the track – something I had only done with the PlayStation prior to today. I would like to thank Team Gresini for today’s work, I feel the bike becoming my own a bit more each time.”

13th – MATTEO FERRARI #11

“It was surely an unfortunate day with two faulty batteries and – especially in the second session – I wasn’t able to do any work out on track. I had a good lap-time but it got cancelled. It’s better to leave today behind and free our mind for tomorrow.”
