MARQUEZ STRUGGLES BUT FINISHES SECOND, IKER ON THE RISE

ALEX MARQUEZ

“Something didn’t work in FP1 this morning and I didn’t feel comfortable on the bike. We worked patiently to find the right feeling again, and things went significantly better in practice. We got back to being smooth, especially on the soft tyre, which will definitely be important here. Unfortunately, I’m not feeling great physically. Things have got worse compared to Phillip Island, so we’ll need to take it calmly in order to finish the weekend strongly.”

IKER LECUONA

“I’m happy with the progress compared to this morning. I won’t hide the fact that this circuit has always been one of the tracks where I struggle the most, and I was quickly reminded of that this morning. In practice, I immediately felt better. I set my final time while riding on my own, and that is definitely important. We’re still missing something, but we can certainly take another step forward tomorrow.”
