BEST RESULT OF THE SEASON FOR SALAČ, NINTH AT THE FINISH LINE

RACE – #BritishGP The first race of the second part of the 2022 season, with the Gresini Racing Moto2 standard bearers who lined up in seventeenth (Filip Salač) and eighteenth (Alessandro Zaccone) place: 18 laps for a total of 106.3km of excitement.

The Czech rider continues on his upward trend, as he put together a comeback race with plenty of overtakes in the early laps to eventually claim his best result of the season, a 9th place, the second rookie at the finish line.

Zaccone had a more challenging race in his debut at the English track. After setting promising lap-times throughout practice, he struggled to find a good feeling with the front-end; he eventually lost touch with the front group and he finished eighteenth.

9th – FILIP SALAČ #12

“Today was a good day, starting from warm up when we thought we could have had a good pace. I got a good start and was able to overtake a couple of riders during the first lap. I managed to put together a good pace that allowed me to score my best result of the season and of my career so far in Moto2. I’m happy: now we need to keep working in this direction.”

18th – ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61

“A disappointing race: I was expecting a bit more. I struggled a lot with the front-end, it was tucking that much that I ended up wide twice and lost touch with the front group. I’m sorry because we did improve throughout the weekend, bit today with higher temperatures I wasn’t feeling 100% ready. This race still allowed is to gather some good data even though we would have wanted a better result. Top 15 was within our reach. Too bad but we’re not giving up, we’ll make amends at the next one!”
