The penultimate European event of the 2017 Moto2 World Championship is due to get underway this weekend at the MotorLand Aragón circuit in northeastern Spain, which over the years has become a traditional event for the series.

Jorge Navarro will return to the track where he scored his maiden world championship podium – he was 2nd in the 2015 Moto3 race – and he is looking forward to race again in front of his home crowd, which should give him some extra motivation for a great result.

The rider of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 took part in a private test last week at Valencia, where he tried new geometries for his Kalex machine #9, in order to improve the rideability of the bike.

Moto2 action will get underway as usual on Friday from 10:55am with the first free practice session of the Aragon GP.

JORGE NAVARRO #9

“I got my first podium at Aragon and this is a track where I’ll have lots of friends and family by my side, so I hope I can improve my feeling and my performance. I like the track, it suits well my riding style. From now to the end of the season the main goal is to enjoy riding again and have some fun – two things that I’ve missed in the last GPs. There are five races left – two of which in Spain – so we have everything we need to do well and get the smile back on our faces.”
