MUGELLO – BALATON: LOPEZ AIMS FOR THE PODIUM, GARCIA SEEKS REDEMPTION

Team ITALJET GRESINI Moto2 is gearing up for another back-to-back challenge: it begins with the Italian Grand Prix at the stunning Mugello circuit, a technical track loved by both riders, followed immediately by Balaton Park in Hungary. Two profoundly different yet equally demanding circuits.

Alonso Lopez arrives in Tuscany with great optimism, bolstered by the valuable work completed during the Barcelona test. The rider number 21 focused on race-end management, studying solutions to maintain a high pace until the checkered flag. On the other side of the garage, Sergio Garcia is looking for a quick comeback: after a difficult round, the Spaniard aims to rediscover the feeling with his bike, leveraging the data collected during testing to return to the fight and close this double-header with a solid result.

ALONSO LOPEZ #21
“I can’t wait to get back on track at Mugello to put the work from the tests into practice: it’s one of my favorite tracks and I think that after the test in Barcelona, we could fight for something more here. As for Balaton, last year I struggled and couldn’t put together good laps. This year, however, I expect to have different feelings and to be fast there as well!”

SERGIO GARCIA #3
“At Mugello we want a fresh new start: during the test we rediscovered positive sensations and now, with two race weekends in a row, we will have the chance to consolidate our work. I like Mugello very much in particular, while Balaton is a more difficult circuit, but one where I was able to ride last year and I know we can finish with a good race.”
