MUGELLO: DIGGIA UP TO SPEED AS BULEGA IMPROVES

#ItalianGP Free Practice. Plenty of work and good feeling at the end of the first day of action for Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 around the corners of Mugello. Fabio Di Giannantonio and Nicolò Bulega have finished day one in 8th and 17th, with clear ideas ahead of the weekend.

1’52.007secs is the time set by the #21, who focused his effort this morning on a successful race simulation, while in the afternoon he turned his attention on fine tuning as he ended the day six tenths of a second shy from Lowes’s top lap.

A bit more behind, albeit not too much, is Nicolò Bulega. The #11 rider is half a second away from his teammate and his goal for now is to move up three places in order to get direct admission to tomorrow’s Q2.

8th – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (1’52.007)

“Riding at Mugello is always a top experience… First of all we did a good long run in the morning: it was important to find again all the reference marks at this track after two years without racing here. The bike set-up is OK, we need very little to be near the top and today we did a lot of laps with used tyres – and we were fast all the way. We mainly need to improve the front-end feeling while changing direction, but we’re on the right track.”

17th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (1’52.582)

“Generally speaking, we need to improve the feeling with the bike; I need to be more smooth and more confident aboard the bike. We didn’t doo too bad, though: half a second here is like a tenth on a different track. We’re far, but with a small step we can be among the quickest without a doubt.”
