NAVARRO AT AUSTIN TO TURN THE PAGE ON ARGENTINA

The Argentine Grand Prix did not end up being the type of ‘momentum building’ weekend for Jorge Navarro everyone expected. The good signs were there, however: the young Spaniard was among the protagonists during free practice in both wet and dry conditions, and got very close to a front-row qualifying position with his fifth position – equalling his previous best qualifying result at Brno 2017. The race, however, was inevitably affected by a coming together in the early stages.

The #AmericasGP will represent the first chance for Navarro to turn the page on an unfortunate Argentine Sunday whilst find back pace and points with Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2.

The first free practice for the middleweight class of MotoGP will get underway at 10:55 local time (GMT -5).

JORGE NAVARRO #9

“I am heading to Austin to make amends for the DNF of the last race. I feel the job we did in Argentina in both wet and dry conditions was good and I’m sure it will pay off soon. As everyone saw, I didn’t get the chance to show my speed in the race, but I hope we’ll be more lucky in the States in order to be able to play our cards right. I used the time home to train hard but also to get some R&R, which is very important between races. Austin is a track I like and one that suits my style well.”
