NAVARRO CHARGED UP FOR EUROPEAN SEASON BEGIN
It is spring time at Jerez de la Frontera, with – hopefully – mild temperatures and engine soon roaring, as the MotoGP World Championship prepares for the start of the long, european leg of the 2018 season.
Jorge Navarro is back to action after the positive performance at Austin, in which he was able to go all the way from 19th on the grid to 8th place at the finish line of COTA’s Moto2 race.
2018 so far has seen some up-and-down moments for the Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 rider – the downs being basically the coming together of Termas, of which he had no blame – and at Jerez, not among his favourite tracks on the calendar, Navarro hopes to continue in the right direction.
With thirteen corners spread on a 4.4km-long strip of asphalt located in the beautiful Andalusia, the “Circuito of Jerez” will give Navarro a great opportunity to shine, starting from Moto2’s FP1 session which will get underway at 10:55 local time (GMT +2).
JORGE NAVARRO #9
“We are finally back in Europe, hence to the “normal” schedule. I really look forward to be racing in front of my home crowd and, after the race at Austin, I am even more motivated and aggressive. I must admit that Jerez is not among my favourite tracks, because I never enjoyed great results there: I will rely on the support of my fans, family and friends who will come visit there, who will push me for a strong result.”
