NAVARRO AIMS FOR PACE CHANGE AT MISANO

Jorge Navarro is getting ready to tackle the thirteenth event of the 2017 Moto2 World Championship, which takes place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli this weekend. After scoring points for the last seven consecutive races, not only the Spaniard wishes to continue this positive streak of result but he now aims for a bit more.

The race result at Silverstone did not leave a good taste in Navarro’s mouth and now the 21-year-old hopes for a change of pace at Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2’s home track. The goal is to get a good start on Friday in order for the series rookie to stay closer to the front of the field – as he has been in his so far four top-10 finishes this year.

Navarro has raced twice here at Misano in Moto3 – 2014 and 2016 – and had to sit out the 2015 encounter as a precaution after a crash during FP1. He will now attack the Italian circuit for the first time on his Kalex #9 on Friday at 10:55 local time (GMT +2)

JORGE NAVARRO #9

“After such a complicated weekend at Silverstone, I’m really looking forward to racing at Misano. Both the team and I have left England with a bad taste in our mouth, so we will try to make amends at Misano – although it’s not one of my favourite tracks. We already tested there and I felt good; it’s also the team’s home race, so definitely the best place where to aim for a good result.”
