PODIUM AT LE MANS: SECOND PLACE FOR SALAČ
Race – #FrenchGP Filip Salač put together an outstanding race today at Le Mans as he crossed the line in second place for what is his first podium of the season. It all began with a challenging start, followed by a red flag situation that put a temporary halt to the encounter. The Czech rider moved off well from the grid at the restart and courtesy of a great race pace, he fought for the 1st position until the last corner but he was eventually second at the chequered flag – only 0.6secs away from the winner. He is now in 4th position in the World Championship classification, just one point from the TOP3.
Jeremy Alcoba also had a positive race as from 20th place on the grid he was able to maintain a competitive pace: he finished the encounter in 13th place and to secure three important points for his championship situation, which currently sees him in fourteenth place.

“I didn’t get a good start the first time, but then the red flags were deployed and that gave me a second chance. I tried to stay near the front, but then I saw Acosta crashing out and I got a bit worried for the front tyre. I still managed to give my all and had the situation under control. I’m really happy, this is a second place that really means a lot to me, and we need to continue this way! I would like to thank the whole team, they deserved it, I’m over the moon for them!”

“It was quite a difficult weekend for us. Today we weren’t able to ride at our pace, but it wasn’t enough, we couldn’t recover enough positions with such a short encounter – maybe without the top ten we would have maybe been able to get a top-ten result. We still need to work on it, we lack a bit of confidence, and I must also work on my riding style. We have now three weeks of rest and we’ll try again at Mugello.”
